Frequently Asked Questions

How long does one bag last?

Most homes get roughly a month from a single bag with one cat, and plenty stretch it to around 40 days. The real number depends on your cat, the size of the box, how deep you pour and how often it gets used.

What ingredients can be found in OdorStop Litter?

Tofu pellets (soybean fiber, corn starch, pea fiber, calcium carbonate, charcoal), pea pellets (pea fiber, corn starch, calcium carbonate, odor control additive) and sodium bentonite balls.

Does this work with self-cleaning litter boxes?

Automatic boxes are usually built around fine clay litter, so pellet-style litter may not run reliably in them. For easy manual scooping we suggest the Cove Litter Box, with its wide-slatted scoop and anti-stick plastic.

Is OdorStop flushable?

Independent testing showed it passes through home plumbing with little residue, but because it contains bentonite we do not recommend flushing OdorStop. Choose our pure tofu formulas if you want a flushable litter.

How is it 99% dust-free if it has clay in it?

OdorStop uses only 25% bentonite, shaped into compact rounded granules that resist crumbling. They are sifted to remove fine dust before being mixed with our low-dust plant pellets, so you get clay-level clumping without the cloud.

Does Really Great Cat Litter expire?

Sealed bags are best used within 24 months of the production date printed on the bag. After opening, use it within 3 to 6 months and keep the bag closed in a cool, dry place for best results.

How does OdorStop compare to the Charcoal and Lavender formulas?

OdorStop is a mixed tofu litter and our strongest option against odor, ideal for multi-cat homes, while staying low-tracking, 99% dust-free and light. Charcoal and Lavender are pure tofu and flushable; OdorStop is not.

It’s “ok”

Overall, the product seems OK. But I have a couple of issues. Sometimes the litter sticks to my kitties fur around the urethra or the tail. He is a medium haired kitty. The other concern is that one of my dogs wants to eat the kitty litter, and has eaten it a couple of times which has caused some diarrhea. I guess it's because it's a food based product... I am meticulous about cleaning out any liquid or solid excrement throughout the day but the litter does not preclude odor...

REALLY GREAT CAT LITTER lives up to its name. The tracking is 90% better. I ordered the lavender scented litter, and went away for a day. The odor was not great. I reached out for advice, and they suggested baking soda until a complimentary bag of the odor control came!!

Hands down the best cat litter I have tried!

After a 10 day trial run there is no question this is the best kitty litter! I recently downsized with my 2 cats and now we live in half the space and they are restricted to a catio only for outdoor enjoyment. I was getting so tired of kitty litter in my bed and between my toes I tried 5 brands and this one is perfect! The cats were reluctant to try it at first but now the other brands are tossed out they have no choice and we are all happy! Much less waste, minimal odour issues, easier to deal with and NO tracking crunchy litter all over the house. I confess I have not tried the flush part but will do soon.
